São Paulo, Brasil
27/11/2010 - 15/12/2010
Candido Portinari, Ismael Ney, Di Cavalcanti, Tarsila do Amaral, Victor Brecheret, Lasar Segall and Aldo Bonadei are some of the names that make up the exhibition “Brasilidade e Modernismo”, the closing show of the year at Dan Galeria that can be seen between 27 November and December 15, 2010.
Modern Brazilian Art is already incorporated into the aesthetic and cultural imagery of Brazilians. It is the object of constant studies and critical and academic publications on Brazilian art in the 20th century and produced works of great historical value, present in important museums and private collections, both Brazilian and international.
This collective follows the tradition of modernist exhibitions at Dan Galeria, which brings together works by 16 great artists produced in the period from the 1920s to the 1970s. In all, 47 works were brought together between oils, watercolors, drawings and sculptures. A careful and significant selection of modernist works whose quality and historical value can be seen in the bibliographical citations of each one, since most of them have been in major exhibitions along their trajectory.
