Biography

Belo Horizonte, 1983

Juliana Sícoli (1983) is a visual artist, with a postgraduate degree in

Photography and Visual Arts by PUC/MG. Trained in psychoanalysis, she weaves a unique narrative that intertwines photographs, paintings, and interventions with cutting and sewing materials

.

Her research, based on the quest to express the concerns that not only affect her but also resonate with so many other women, transcends the boundaries of the visible to reveal deeper emotional layers.

Juliana uses very deep research on the role of women throughout history, in our patriarchal society. It covers personal issues, literary and philosophical references, and archival research

.

In a continuous dialogue between image and psyche, each work is a conscious expression — a visceral statement — of her commitment to investigate and reflect on the complexities that permeate the feminine universe.

Recently, the artist has focused her research on the creation of three-dimensional works in small and large formats, using the same language found in the series The Void Made Sea.

Juliana is the artist selected this semester for the Dan Acredita program. Promoted by Dan Galeria Interior, the program aims to give visibility to the artistic production of professionals with a solid background in the visual arts and without representation

of galleries.
